Control for Mac

The menu bar app that lets your iPhone, iPad, Mac or Vision Pro see and control this Mac.

FreeApple silicon or IntelmacOS 15 or laterNotarized by Apple

What happens next

Four steps, about a minute.

  1. Drag Control to Applications.

It has to live there — macOS won’t load the camera extension from anywhere else.

  2. Open it. It lives in the menu bar.

macOS asks once whether to open an app from the web — choose Open. The first time, a Set Up Control window walks you through two permissions; after that there’s no window and no Dock icon.

  3. Grant Screen Recording and Accessibility.

Control walks you through both. After the first, macOS asks you to quit and reopen Control. Then it asks whether Control may find devices on your local network — choose Allow.

  4. Your device is already looking for it.

On the same Wi‑Fi your Mac appears by name in Control on your device — tap it, check both screens show the same six digits, and confirm on each. Not on the same Wi‑Fi? Choose Add a Device on the Mac, then scan its code, or copy the code and paste it into Add Mac. No Control on your device yet? It’s on TestFlight.

Control for Mac runs on any Mac with macOS 15 or later — Apple silicon or Intel.

Control isn’t on the Mac App Store because capturing a screen and moving a cursor need entitlements the App Store sandbox doesn’t allow. It’s signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple, which is the same check the App Store runs for malware, and it checks for updates once a day.
